Table Groups
Table groups at Vine & Branch Church are intended to be a modern extension of something great Jesus started – constantly inviting people to the table.
At Vine & Branch, our table groups offer a welcoming, hospitable space where people can come together to get to know each other’s stories and grow in love for self, others, and God together. They are also a place to discover tangible opportunities for serving others. Each group studies and discusses topics relevant to what the church is engaging with and discerning at the time (e.g. learning how to be better welcoming to families with disabilities, second language speakers, LGBTQIA community, etc.).
How they work
Table Groups run and are structured on a seasonal calendar to encourage people to get to know new people in our community. Each seasonal group is unique and at times will have a different focus. The rotating nature of our groups helps us to go against the grain of our natural tendency to join up with people very much like ourselves and grow in diverse settings. You also do NOT need to be a regular attendant of Vine & Branch Church to join a Table Group.
How do I decide which one is right for me?
There are a few different ways you can decide which group will suit your needs in this season.
Place
At our Table Groups, “making friends” is a key goal, so we suggest that you pick a table where you live, work, and play! We want to get people in nearby neighborhoods around the table who might otherwise never have the opportunity to meet each other.
Topic
Community happens best when people gather around a shared interest or passion. This is a chance to dig deeper into a topic that you’ve been wanting to study for a while alongside others who share the same curiosity.
Time
Life is busy. Sometimes you may need a group that fits within your schedule this season. We try to offer a variety of meeting times for our Table Groups so that you can find space for fellowship with others in the midst of the crazy.
Childcare may be provided, but it is up to each group independently to decide that and arrange that based on need. Please reach out to the group you’re interested in and if you need childcare let them know.
